Position Summary

The Team Specialist supports the daily operations of Gymkhana’s Competitive Team Program by helping provide a positive, challenging, and organized environment for athletes, coaches, and families. Working closely with the Team Director, this position assists with athlete development, coach mentoring, program organization, and daily operations while helping ensure a consistent, high quality experience throughout the program.

The Team Specialist serves as a leader within the Team Program by modeling excellent coaching, supporting staff, communicating with families, and helping athletes reach their individual goals in a safe and encouraging environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead practices and provide high quality instruction to competitive team athletes.
  • Support the Team Director with the daily operation of the Team Program.
  • Help ensure consistent coaching techniques, lesson planning, and athlete development throughout the program.
  • Observe practices and provide constructive feedback to coaches when appropriate.
  • Assist with athlete evaluations and progression decisions.
  • Build positive relationships with athletes and families through professional communication.
  • Help maintain attendance records, practice organization, and team communication.
  • Assist with meet preparation, special events, clinics, and team activities.
  • Ensure all safety standards, gym policies, and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and Gymkhana’s core values.

Schedule Expectations

  • Minimum 30 hours per week.
  • Will teach a minimum of 25 hours per week.
  • Must be available to work daytime, evening, and weekend hours, including meets and special events as needed.
